Tariff Increase Quadrant Catering

Post by POSTMAN »

LTB 282/2008 dated 10th April 2008 detailed our approach to a proposed tariff increase in Quadrant Catering. A meeting took place on the 28th April 2008 to discuss the proposed increase.

The union asked the business to explore a number of different variations to their proposed increase. We reiterated our initial views that the business were driving away business to our competitors with a view of closing units at the earliest opportunity. The business have responded by informing us that they have recently extended the Quadrant contract until 2013 and therefore have no intention of driving away custom and closing units. They have committed to meet and discuss any opportunity of improving their current service and have agreed to discuss any information that would have a significant effect on the Quadrant review currently in process.

Following this meeting the business have informed us that they intend to progress with the tariff increase and the changes will be introduced on the 15th May. They have however agreed to run a number of breakfast promotions alongside the price increases. Therefore whilst we accept that the annual food inflation has climbed at the fastest rate since records began in 1992 we feel we are unable to agree to their current proposed changes. At the Postal Executive meeting dated 7th May 2008 the Postal Executive endorsed document 81/2008 with a recommendation that the Postal Executive Committee note the actions of the business in respect of the tariff price increase. We have attached for your information a copy of the increases and the headlines on the wholesale price movement.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Quadrant trying to bleed us dry

Well I feel a canteen boycott coming on these price rises are scandalous
We are postmen and women not the filthy rich
We are not getting a pay rise so how can the canteen put up the prices
45p for a tea bag in hot water with a dash of milk an absolute disgrace :lfo :cfo

What's a canteen? All we get is a ropey tea & coffee machine and a half empty vending machine (which is only good for out of date things)
