Hi,
I joined Royal Mail last December on the new contract and have been working 30h/w, Mon - Sun ever since
This Wednesday my manager briefly told me that the district manager has decided to put the 3 staff in the office on the new contracts onto a different shift pattern stating from next week, permanently.
That shift pattern being a 5 day straight from Wednesday - Sunday. I have been told that the Sunday shift will be at a different district.
The idea of not having a weekend off is highly stressful and is causing me a lot of anxiety at the moment.
I’m very unhappy with this and I am unsure what to do because I am unable to commit to that shift pattern for many reasons.
Staff in my office have informed me that there’s a policy in place where management need to give a months notice prior to changes to shift patterns.
I am unsure how to proceed and would really appreciate any help on this.
Thank you

Re: Shift pattern change on new contract
See the Rep for your office, even though you are on the new contract the CWU will still do what they can for you.
