ILL HEALTH RETIREMENT

I've been on sick leave for just over 12 months after suffering a stroke.Physically I've recovered reasonably well but I now have major anxiety issues as the stroke happened on my walk.Im still waiting on some tests but unfortunately these are taking time.The DOM sees me every month and is keen for me to return to work.He has mentioned I'll health retirement but won't give me any idea of what I would receive.I have 37 years service but am at a loss to understand how I'm supposed to make a decision on my future when I'm not sure whether I could manage.Does anyone know roughly what I'd receive or who could tell me?

you would receive 34 weeks pay tax free,12 weeks pilon which is taxable plus any outstanding leave which is also taxable.You should by now have been going down the occupational health routes various stages and they are there to help you attain a satisfactory outcome for you and royal mail.I found them really helpful,good luck with youre health.

More rumours then. did martin walsh not say recently ihr was staying as it is.

I'm led to believe you receive your full pension.as well? from date you leave I'm 60 so would I get the 65 pension payable at 60?

Well, that's the ball started for me leaving the business via Ill Health Retirement. Not how I expected my career to end at Royal Mail, but it is what it is.

Hopefully I should have everything sorted within a few weeks.

Seriously? That's your first post spreading sh'te.... for a start it has to be voted on and then if it's a yes vote the IHR agreement doesn't change until August. That is months away.

His first post and he was clearly saying this is now the IHR policy and it isn't until it's voted on and then not in place until August. There are enough people spreading rumours and half truths. In my opinion this is one of those posts. Or can't you see that?
