RM want 6-15 starts as standard.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Raised this in our WTLL session as we have a high number of large firms.
To be honest i don't think they know what to do,the problem is, currently they can't segregate the mail into residential/firms.
so to ensure the firms mail gets sorted and timed deliveries are fulfilled,it's as you were a 5.00am start.
but it raises a few dilemmas, what about people who may want to start later, should they be given the option, also if they can get the mail to one D/O
for 5.00am why is there a need for change for everyone else??

6-15 starts are a joke, how can we get 9am Specials done, we will only just be gettting ready to go out
, we can't even get 1pm's done in the time limit :Confused . 10 hour duties are up in the air as well rural deliveries must deliver by 3pm at moment, and with later starts this is going to cause a problem.
Who left the lunatics in charge of Royal Mail

Also aren't town resedentials meant to be done by 14.00 at the moment its tight to get done by then on Banger days. So can RM change the times without going to the regulator and changing the licence.

More Royal Mail lies uncovered: 6:15 start times
The Lie
After being confronted by the CWU over the driving times of our network lorries, Royal Mail has finally admitted that the introduction of the 56mph legislation to be implemented in August this year, will have NO impact on our network lorries at all.
To explain, when the driving times of our network lorries were originally tested, they were tested at a maximum speed of 56mph anyway. The 600 lorries that run mail from our mail centres to our delivery offices, were tested at an even slower speed i.e., 30mph or less due to local speed limits and traffic levels at the time they was driving, 16mph in places like London. So in reality the network lorries are already compliant with the new 56mph legislation.
The mail currently arrives at our mail centres at aprox midnight so there is a window of 5 hours to get that mail sorted and distributed to our delivery offices, so really there is work for people in delivery offices at 5am. It has also become apparent that mail is being held back at mail centres and RDCs. On top of this Royal Mail has also approached the airport authorities requesting that new later flight times are introduced. This is all to give the impression that there is no need to start any earlier than 6am.
What a Whopper
The Truth
The real reasons Royal Mail want delivery officers to start later is to save money on the early morning shift allowances over the next 3 years. Royal Mail are also planning to reduce network lorries by 6% and introduce new double-decker lorries, so instead of two lorries arriving at different times only one double-decker lorry will arrive at the later time. What Royal Mail are also trying to do is create a larger window in arrival patterns for the introduction of walk sequencing machines.
Why lie to us? When 5 day weeks were introduced we were told that we would soon be going to later starts and at the time people were begining to warm to the idea. If only Royal Mail were up front with the CWU right from the start, maybe an agreement could be reached to introduce flexible start times, which would suit the wishes of the individual members whether it be a later or early start time, whilst securing the early morning shift allowance in some way.
This just goes to show people like ALAN LEIGHTON & ADAM CROZIER CAN NOT BE TRUSTED
VOTE YES for industrial action and let's weed out the liars

I always thought this as most Trucks have had speed limiters now for years. But every time you tell them that they say I don't know what I'm taking about (at work not on here)

said it before and i will say it again check the rm drivers manual and our top speeds are lower than the national set limit plus tachos record wagon speeds and they are supposed to be checked so either drivers are kicking the arse out of 600s and the tachos dont work or someone keeps telling porkies
