Hand Injury/Condition

Post by walkin4/4time »

Hi,

Just been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in my left thumb joint/hand (the hand I use to push letters through) and just wondered if anyone else has this condition?

Is it related to RSI and specifically postal workers?

Thanks

Left hand from gripping mail. Use a wrist support which covers thumb and wrist works pretty good

Wrist support will help but don't use constantly it will weaken the muscles and make the pain worse. Try to get advice on keeping the supportive muscles strong

Very common condition among royal mail workers, I've worked for royal mail for 43 years and have had osteoarthritis in both thumb joints since 2012,
Had numerous hospital visits and cortisone injections, in the end I've just learned to live with it
