A PERTHSHIRE postman who dumped thousands of items of mail because he was stressed out will be sentenced at Perth Sheriff Court on May 7.

Background reports have been ordered on 20-year-old Aaron Thomas, of Commissioner Street, Crieff, after he admitted failing to deliver a total of 3644 letters and packages between November 2 and November 8 last year.

Thomas told the court that he recognised he had done wrong but said he had been under stress because of his mother’s poor health.

Sheriff Robert McCreadie rejected a request to impose a hefty fine or community service and instead jailed the accused for his “gross breach of trust.â€

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
