A TNT worker who admitted stealing goods from TNT customers and even re-wrapping some as Christmas presents has been given a nine month suspended prison sentence.
David Newman who lives in Southampton, claimed he had stolen the goods (worth around £7,000) because he was in debt. The items, which included clothes and electrical goods, were uncovered after police and Royal Mail investigators searched his home.
In his defence, Newman said he had been in arrears on his mortgage of £6000 and had stolen the packages to ease the debt he was experincing.

Not only does Royal Mail deliver most of the letters for TNT it seems they have to also provide the investigators when something goes wrong.
