So I am expecting to get slated for this but here goes.

Some honesty is required here.
Attendance procedure: this currently favours the ones who 'play the system' and works against the people who are unfortunate enough to be ill. ( I know some people will argue all sick is genuine but come on)

Productivity: mail centres are like holiday camps, no standards what so ever, yet the changes seem to be aimed at delivery staff ( worst paid hardest worked) imo.

Opportunity available: the business wants Sunday as a normal working day. Counter with all delivery staff go Monday to Friday and create NEW weekend jobs.

Historic allowances come up every time: as long as a pay rise sees nobody worse off go for it. (I get ex phg)

Scan in scan out , what's the problem?

There has to get change, the real victory is getting the best our of that change.

Be prepared to be called a manager or wanting to become 1 with what you wrote lol. I agree with you on the sick leave, some have absolutely milked it & no doubt ruined it for the genuine. Not so sure about the scan in & scan out or some of the other changes.

The work rate of each work area is monitored. The managers have to account for each hour that they use, if they don't have the hours they turn staff away from their work area. Every hour you see them counting up the amount of yorks/sleeves.trays of each stream of work that is waiting to be sorted.

AFAIK RM are thinking of bring in individual performances standards everywhere, both MCs and DOs

As someone who works in a MC and has done a bit of delivery o.t in the past, i can safetly say that MC work is a dodle compared to deliveries and that was around 10 years ago, so god knows how much harder it is now.

I do feel sorry for delivery staff, they have the hardest and most physical job amongst every function, yet they don't get full bonuses because of the part time/pro rata aspect of bonuses.

If it's a requirement to work night's then I'd take delivering over working in a mc everytime. I've done nights before at a previous job & wouldn't want to experience that again.

Going to bed at 7 am isn't normal, waking at 1pm, sun blaring, the world up and running while I was adjusting to waking up. I was mentally shattered. Come 8pm I just wanted to sleep.

No lack of activity in MCs, staff get moved around the sections depending on what sections have what work

If the OP gets their way and Deliveries become Monday to Friday then can I please have a transfer to Walks as it would be so nice to have evenings and a weekend to myself. It's the working 5 out of 6 Saturdays that stop me going on Walks. Being a Non Driver though there is no way on earth any Walk office would take me

Simple things like kids playing ball outside, sound booming around the bedroom. Window cleaners, cold callers ignoring the do not disturb message.. did my fkin head in. I got sleep deprivation where I felt mildly drunk at work, eyes watering, headaches.
