If they do come in I'll definitely be logging all my hours in a diary, I wouldn't trust RM to log them correctly :thumbup

Am i missing something here ? this is what we are fighting for to stop them bringing in their dumbass action ! If we and the union dont foldthey cannot bring them in and if they do then we have to have local walkouts !!

I think they'll try and bring them in by executive action. Probably try to sack people for unballoted local walkouts. Dreadful people let's not forget. Also they'll probably lose a lot of the younger people they seem to want to employ on lesser terms because of child care issues caused by either finishing late or at no fixed time

What makes you think they can't bring it in if we don't fold? They can actually do as they please, they don't need our agreement, we are striking to try to get them not to do all these things. The law is actually on their side when it comes to changing Terms and conditions, they just have to follow the law.

I read somewhere on here that RM lawyers said they can't legally change hours by more than 30 mins without agreement.

I might be wrong, but i don't think i am.

Ask the Asda emplyees, it all happened to them a few years ago, those that didn't accept the changes left the company.

Could people perhaps stop quoting other cases then saying look it happened to them...

The ASDA case was, just like P&O completely different to ours.

These are all very complex and individual legal cases and it's about as relevant as saying a Ferrari and a Toyota are both cars therefore are exactly the same.

It's very unlikely that an employer would try to impose a major material change to work patterns by executive action or even fire&rehire because it would throw up a huge number of potential unfair/constructive dismissal cases and also involve potential discrimination cases.

Fire&rehire is far more commonly used to align pay rates, sick pay, holiday entitlements and allowances/supplements because that's much safer ground especially if you have existing staff already on those reduced terms.
