Been offered lump sum payment as too ill to return to work but have been told to sign asap as with the strike things may change, is this correct? What does it mean by leaving the business due to ill health with income benefit and who would be eligible from this? I'm 66 and haven't claimed my 65 pension yet, so don't know if am classed as an active member or non-active? Any advice is welcomed. Thank you

The 34 week ill health retirement payment is on of the proposed changes the CEO wants to introduce.

So if you have been off work say 20 weeks then this will be deducted from the 34 week payment.

At 66 I would take it 8 months pay plus PILON dependent on how long you have worked for it's a good offer.

If you haven't claimed your NRA 65 pension and you are 66 you are losing money. It has reached maturity. You won't get any back money off it, so every month that goes by you have lost that unclaimed money.
