LTB 326/22 – CWU Annual Conference 2023/2024
No. 326/22

2nd August 2022

TO: ALL BRANCHES

Dear Colleagues,

CWU Annual Conference 2023/2024

Branches will be aware that since Annual Conference 2022 that the Union have been actively trying to identify suitable venues capable of holding the CWU Annual Conference in 2023 and 2024.

Our current policy is to identify venues which are able to hold our conference at a similar time to the dates that we usually hold our conference which is around the last week in April however this has continued to be very difficult to do. This now means that our options are becoming very limited.

This is primarily due to the availability, suitability and size of venues who are available at this time of the year, who, since the removal of the COVID 19 restrictions, are now having to fit in and accommodate bookings which they had previously deferred.

With this in mind at the meeting held on 27th July the NEC have now agreed that the CWU Annual Conference 2023 will be held at the Bournemouth International Centre in Bournemouth from 23rd – 27th April 2023.

Regarding the 2024 CWU Annual Conference the NEC have agreed that this will take place in the new Winter Gardens, Blackpool from 8th -14th June 2024.

Further information with regards the programme of business for the 2023 conference will be published at a later date.

Additionally we have been making plans for the possibility of a CWU Rules Revision Conference to be held in November 2022. The NEC have now agreed that this conference will be postponed and will be incorporated in the 2023 Annual Conference.

Further information regarding this will be published in due course.

Any enquiries regarding this Letter to Branches should be addressed to Angela Niven in the Senior Deputy General Secretary Department on telephone number 020 8971 7256 or email conferences@cwu.org

Yours sincerely,

A P Kearns
Senior Deputy General Secretary

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
