Unless it benefits the manager's ability to get as much at the door as possible. In which case private car use is fine.

Joint Statement on the Lifting of Restrictions
Throughout the pandemic Royal Mail, CWU and Unite/CMA have worked very closely to ensure we develop and maintain high standards of Covid secure safety controls in order to keep the workforce safe. We achieved this while continuing to operate the nation’s essential postal service and fulfilling our responsibility as key workers.
Recent announcements have set out and progressed the Government’s step by step roadmap by easing and removing lockdown restrictions in order to provide a route back to a more normal way of life, with the vaccination programme at the heart of the plan.
Royal Mail, the CWU and Unite/CMA have maintained at every stage a cautious approach. As the country has progressed along the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown, we have already seen tasks successfully reintroduced that were previously suspended.
As Northern Ireland has now followed the rest of the UK in easing Covid restrictions, Royal Mail and Parcelforce with the CWU and Unite/CMA believe that it is now safe to start to remove the remaining social distancing Covid controls. This will be done with the built in safeguard of being ready to react and re-introduce Covid-secure controls should the need arise.
We will now prepare to cautiously remove the remaining controls across the UK from Monday 11th October 2021. All Private Cars on Delivery use must also be withdrawn from this date.
Managers and CWU/Unite Representatives should now commence preparations through local consultation and joint communications with the workforce on plans for a gradual return to normal. Further updates and guidance will be provided to assist these conversations and, where appropriate, risk assessments for changing operational tasks will be updated to reflect the changes.
We really appreciate the efforts everyone continues to make in maintaining preventative measures e.g. hand hygiene, and would ask that we all continue to do so.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Does this mean sorting frames next to each other will be opened (just in time for Christmas) and the use of masks wont be compulsary

Probably
At the moment Mask are not compulsory in England and RM are not enforcing in workplace Nationally.
I maybe wrong but it All sounds like winding down the availability and cost of PPE to me.

Re: All private car use to be removed by 11th October...
Catching covid is rife at the moment even if you are double jabbed. Ive been vaccinated and im currently isolating due to covid but have since learned that despite catching covid is lower if vaccinated I know of 3 people who are also isolating that have had the jab, one has had it twice!!. I was still wiped out and have lost all smell and taste (completely)
It has taught me a lot to not take anything for granted even if you have been vaccinated and will be cautious as much as I can when I return if that is possible (which is damned hard).

The Vaccine lessons the chance of being hospitalised.postiewhite wrote: ↑05 Oct 2021, 22:35Catching covid is rife at the moment even if you are double jabbed. Recent American Scientific Studies show the viral load is more or less the same between vaccinated and unvaccinated people ,meaning a vaccinated person has the same chance of catching Covid and Spreading it around as an unvaccinated person..There is no difference.
With this in mind ,people should err on the side of caution in public places or spaces with large amount of people in,
ie wear a mask.
Iam really amazed at RM and Unions take on relaxing measures,If one person catches Covid it’s one too many.
Hope you recover soon.
