Posties of central London. How is it?

Post by badmanowl »

Girlfriend has a job opportunity in central London. We're now considering the move. £15+ an hour sounds pretty good for me to transfer. Should cover the extra rent just about.

I'd preferably want to work somewhere within zone 2 for the extra pay, would also be living somewhere within that.

Just wondering what it's like in general? Can't even imagine it to be honest. All the high rises and businesses.

Just looking for a day in the life post if possible! I hear a lot of offices in London are on the 4 day week. Is that true?

Cheers.

London pay rates are paid anywhere within the M25 motorway boundary, so you could get a cheaper rent on the outskirts with the same pay but may incur travel costs and increased commuting time.
We are on a 6 day week, 5 weeks on, 1 week off rota with lots of overtime if wanted, but I know people who moved from central London offices as the overtime was allocated to agency workers.
Just call an office, have a chat and ask the questions regards overtime/hours ect.
Good luck

Iam pretty sure central London attracts inner London weighting so working on the outskirts will pay a little bit less per hour. Outer london life is pretty much same as out of capital. Instead of rurals we tend to have driving duties/firms and a few more hct walks. No idea how it is in zone 1-2 where you need to be to get paid highest rate.

As I said London rates are the same pay in all areas within the M25 orbital motorway.
Thats why I opted for a job within the M25.

There is national, way out of London.

Outer London
and
Inner London.

All different pay rates...

Looking for new rates, as for the figures in the link, 1% needs to be added.
