We were sent home as a GWG on Tuesday by management because of the blizzard that hit Scotland. A colleague (opg) had yesterday as their day off, but are worried they may not be able to get to work today, as their street remains ungritted and uncleared. They drive a rwd car and appreciate the main roads are fine, it's just getting to the main roads what is the problem.
They work in another town and their local office is 3.2+ miles away. I'm led to believe the options are unpaid leave, annual leave, or work back hours, correct?
They have unspent leave for the remainder of this financial year, so they management can't refuse, can they?

Correct but it could be a few days before he could get in, waste of AL obviously.
And you don't want to go down the I will owe you route! (Work back hrs).

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
