Our office is starting these on the 17th March having a saturday and tuesday 7 hours and the rest 8 hrs 40 mins.
Am I right in thinking these hours dont add up properly and we will be working 1 hour 40 for free if my day off is on a sat or tuesday?

For that is the question!. I myself was asking as to whether it is now to apply or not indeed till the future of the 2007 pay and modernization agreement!. For when banked or annual hour's come's in this will surely be the case!. or is it not?.boo boo wrote:Our office is starting these on the 17th March having a saturday and tuesday 7 hours and the rest 8 hrs 40 mins.

There is NO average in the deal.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: longs and shorts
Our office agreed to longs and shorts 4 or 5 years ago. We had a twat of an area rep who sold us down the river but that's another story. To answer your question over 6 weeks with a rotating day off you will work an average of 40 hours per week. You must remember when you are a Friday day off that week you will work less than the 40 hours.boo boo wrote:Our office is starting these on the 17th March having a saturday and tuesday 7 hours and the rest 8 hrs 40 mins.
