Re: double post
Yep use the overrunning/cutting off procedure to the letter. Getting shirty with you because the poor lamb
will have to do some work and organize some resources to get somebody else to do it instead of being able to go back
to his/her coffee and hob nobs and put their feet up.

Re: double post
You get paid to work not to finish. The only people left with double mail in our office is the ones with no backbone and work over their hours for FREE. Hence the management doing it to them week in week out. Just tell your manager ill deliver what I can in my hours and I'll bring whatever I couldn't deliver back to the office. Make sure you have a witness just to cover your back.

Yes it really is that simple, you have a start time and a finish time,do what you can in between, and follow the brilliant procedure if you think you won’t be able to complete in your time, and let the management do what they are paid to do and that is manage, smile sign off walk out the door!

Re: double post
Basically informing your manager BEFORE you go out (I normally do it just as am about to start bundling up)newpostyco13 wrote: ↑06 Dec 2020, 19:36what is this overrunning cutting off?yellowbelly wrote: ↑06 Dec 2020, 15:48Yep use the overrunning/cutting off procedure to the letter. that you don't believe you will be able to complete your delivery within the duty time - it is then their decision what work
to take off you/be allocated to someone else/left. At this point there is sometimes a bit of 'Why not?/Fred
can normally do it!/It's a light day today - what's the matter with you?' If you stick to your guns manager
will then reluctantly take some work off you/have to organise someone else to do it.
There is an expectation (it's written down somewhere) that if you take all mail out with you,
you are expected to deliver it - that's why it's important to inform the manager BEFORE you go out on delivery.
At the moment it seems that whenever anything is unable to be taken out, it's just left for the next day.
This means you've got two days mail on the loop that was left behind yesterday. Manager will normally
insist that you take that loop out - but as that's going to take longer, you then have to decide (again)
whether you're going to be able to complete delivery or not. A lot of posties will just decide it's not
worth the arguments with the manager and just complete delivery. It's your decision!
