Can someone remind me of what notice there needs to be given - and is there any sort of CWU/local consultation process?
Thanks.

Has your DOM been looking at moving some staff to later start times to deal with the increase of parcels that's forecasted?
It's something that's going around at the moment. DOMs are being asked to "Investigate" the idea.
As previously mentioned it's 28 days notice. However this should be with the involment of the CWU (Local Rep at least). This is NOT going to happen as ANY revision changes have been put on hold UNTIL the latest round of agreements (mainly the pay deal) have been signed off. We all know how that's going.
If your DOM thinks he can just give you the 28 days notice without any CWU involvement then that's classed as Executive Action (just like Rico was considering). Get your Unit Rep to contact your Local Branch Office. Worst Case Scenario they ask your unit to ballot for Industrial Action. However from what I've been told DOMs are only meant to be "Looking" at any posssible solutions NOT hammering them through at any cost.

Notice to change hours of attendance
Our times are changing from 6.30 starts to 8 starts and 2.30 finishes to 4.00 finishes. Of course, no one is too happy about it. Anyone else seeing sweeping changes?

So what's your rep said about it?
"A third of the world's farmland is now useless due to soil degradation, yet we still keep producing mouths to feed. And what's you answer to that? Energy saving lightbulbs?"

I was told by my DOM and union rep that a new agreement was reached within the last 2 years between CWU and RM and those on the new contracts have to be available between 7-7 and hours can be changed with 28 days notice.
Of course this isn’t mentioned in the contract and annoying considering the hours I would be working we’re showing on the job application which were 9-2.

I would get in touch with your area rep for the full story. I'm not saying your rep is wrong but they're not always fully informed or willing to impart all the nuances to the rank and file. The 28 days used to be the amount of time that would take the rep to exhaust the IR framework dealing with your grievance and your hours remained unchanged in the meanwhile.
It's been a while since I've had to deal with this scenario so things may well have changed but do ask Area if there are exceptions for people who would face childcare difficulties etc etc.
