Always thought if you are paid weekly you only have to give a week’s notice please check with a rep regarding pension you have to be 55 and over to claim it as a payment.wish you well when you do leave RM

Your pension will be preserved/deferred and increase with CPI inflation until you choose to take it, which under normal circumstances is 55 at the earliest.

If you need to carry on working I'd think carefully before jumping, getting another job at your age is notoriously difficult and will be made more awkward due to the current crisis. Unemployment will likely rise by millions in the coming months as the furlough sceme is rolled back by the government; it'll be an employers market. I'm sure it's 8 weeks for your service. Although a week is enough. They want guys like you out the door. Obviously you have somewhere else to go but if not I would jump on the sick until it runs out. f**k THEM.
