Just after some advice, if you are the local rep for your office do you atomically carry on for the next year even if no one runs against you.
Or do you have to get someone to nominate you.

If no-one else stands you continue to hold the position. The original nomination stands.

I like a rep who explicitly asks his/her members for a mandate to carry on but it isn't a requirement.

So what is the procedure if someone puts there name forward, do you then stand against them, or do you have to get someone to nominate you again.
Does the union have to inform you of someone standing against you.
This is regarding the date for nominations has passed.
And the rep being told he hasn't put his nomination in.

It doesn't make sense what you wrote mate to me anyway.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
