Stage 3/ sickness help
Hi all I’m currently on a stage 2 after having a lot of trouble with my stomach etc and was one absence short of activating a stage 3 on Saturday I could hardly walk when I got up but I got up and when in, the guy I get a lift from was in on f/t on sat and I’m p/t but I went in early as I was thinking I ain’t able to go on delivery today, I got in for 6.40 hobbling around and went straight to my line manager after telling her what’s up, her response was there is no indoor work so u have to go home, now my manager knows my situation as to my stage etc but was not bothered in the slightest that me going home would trigger a stage 3, I spoke to the union man in house and after ringing his boss he says, there right and I have to go home and that my best option is to contest the stage 3 when it comes, my question is what are the chances of me contesting this stage 3 when it comes successfully?

Stage 3/ sickness help
Very good usually for the first time.
Help yourself, however, go to the doctors and get it checked out.
Get a note from the Doctor if they are willing, and you are ok sharing the information.
Suggest an OH Assist review.
Make sure that the Area Rep is involved.
The first 3 show you are trying to address the situation, which shows you in a positive light.

Stage 3/ sickness help
Update my stage 3 has come up on the system my Dom has referred me to OH assist and told me to tell them everything, but last week on Monday I guy came in and said his ankle was sore and couldn’t go out and they kept him in on light duties, despite telling me on that Saturday that if ur not fit for duty you go home sick, so what should I do hear ? Obviously they can’t have one rule for one and the other, should I complain through HR speak to my Dom about it or wait till my sickness review and bring it up there ?

What does your fit note say if they can not accommodate your situation you then go back on the sick till the note runs out.Gerrard77 wrote:Any advice on what to do ?
