I don't think you get taxed more.
The overtime rate drops after 48 hours.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

thesalarycalculator.co.uk may help you see the tax due on additional pay - either using rough figures , or more accurately if you put in all your tax code, lump sums and pension details.

Royal Mail Pay Rates
£12.29 - Upto fulltime (38hours) (£11.62 base rate + £0.67 D2D)
£11.72 - 1st 10 hours over 38 hours (38hr - 48hr) (essentially £0.57 less per hour)
£11.32 - After 1st 10 Hours (48hr+) (£0.97 less per hour)
The first £200 u earn is particularly tax free. After this u start paying NI + tax which is why o/t feels like its being taxed more. Its just u arent taxed on the first £xxx amount u earn.

Thanks! How about 25 hours PT contract but with 10-13 hours weekly overtime? My payslip is saying "weekday OT 1st 10 hours"..Surely it should be standard rate as I never work over 38 hours?Route1 wrote:Royal Mail Pay Rates

25 - 38 hours should be paid as SSPR.
This includes any additional payments - like delivery supplement and distant islands and difficult recruitment etc

It is not a D2D supplement, it is a 'Delivery Supplement', unrelated to D2D's as part of previous pay agreements which removed the connection. In other words it is not optional to handle D2D's, it is part of your general daily workload.

My bad, i copied and pasted from my Royal Mail notes sheet. It is a delivery supplement and in no way refers to D2D's but it take less space writing "D2D" than "delivery supplement".

Should say "Weekday Overtime @SSPR" & not "Weekday OT1 1st 10 Hrs"FirstPost wrote: Thanks! How about 25 hours PT contract but with 10-13 hours weekly overtime? My payslip is saying "weekday OT 1st 10 hours"..Surely it should be standard rate as I never work over 38 hours?

Weekday overtime @SSPR - any overtime hours above your contracted hours to full time hours
Weekday OT1 1st 10hrs - any overtime hours above full time hours
Basically what's already been said above really.

My ot payrate is all over the place? Do about 52hrs a week, 25 contracted.
Looking at my last 10 weeks payslips upto 38 is correct/same every week. Following 10 also correct/same every week. Beyond that OT2 is different every time. I've had between £10 & £18 per hour for it?
