1 Dom 2 Offices

Any smaller units have 2 offices run by 1 Dom? I say run,he seems o favour one against the other,which is far from perfect,would love to have someone at the office to manage it,see exactly what goes on etc,we’re just left to get on with it and he manages it down the phone,

I believe it happens with quite a lot of smaller DOs. I used to work in one that was "Managed" by a DOM who covered 3 Delivery Offices. Makes sense really why have more of the Lazy Bastards sat around on their arses, when they're not really needed?

One of Local DOs only has about 12 duties in it. Why pay a Full Time Manager? He used to manage two DOs but just used to play "Piggy in the Middle", whenever anybody asked where he was he was always "At the other Delivery Office". When in fact he was normally just sat at home FFS.

Got caught out once by the Sector Manager on a Flying Visit. The PHG (yes I know we don't have them anymore) said, "He's at the Other Office"..... and the Sector Manager said, "No he's not... We've just come from there... phone him and tell him I want him in this office in 10 minutes"

The Sliperry Bastard got away with it just said he'd been out on a Security Check.

It happens in our region, but in my experience it just results in anarchy with the loudest voice doing the least. DOM Support become the actual manager but will make no decisions on anything, and neither will the remote DOM. Only in Royal Mail.

It's the Future... The Future's Red (and Gold). We used to call that sort of management Style "EWO".... "Easy Way Out"..... I really despair at the Low Standard of Management in this Business. Imagine how much money we could make if we had some Switched on Guys in Charge?
