I have looked around but couldn't find any topics on this, I'm a part time reserve 28h/ week contract and I was wondering if it's ok to work my day off that I have during the week doing something else ( self employed) .
I'm also qualified as a barber and I could work a day in a barber shop or do some food delivery or whatever.
Is that affecting my job in any way ? I don't want to be seen and be pointed at that I have another job, I also love the postman job and I wouldn't want to risk being sacked.
Is anyone else in the same situation?
I would ask the manager but we never speak, we never change more than 2 words, everyone is on the rush in the office moving around like ants.
I have a 400£/month car loan payment and that is stressing me a little bit.
I was hoping that there will be opportunities for overtime but 35 hours is the average weekly hours worked.

I've been working as a postman for about 3 months, from what I've read on this forum it could take years to be moved on a full time contract. :nana

Main thing is it is not a competitor or a driving job other than that what can they do as long as your two job's don't conflict with hours your time is your business not your managers if they solely wish your loyalty maybe ask them to put it in writing ie full time contract!

Second job is fine as long as it doesn’t put you over legal driving hours which is probably unlikely unless you are a RM lorry driver.

With Zenith NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.
There is no Zenith involved , I took a loan from the bank on a 3 year repayment plan that's why the payment is high.
I'm looking forward for the festive season maybe there will be more overtime available, I was told at the interview that the summer time is not that busy.

I have 2 jobs both jobs know and it’s no problem, I use my tax allowance at Royal Mail and pay full tax on the other job.

Reselling is a lot of postman second job. Easy to work around. I will be down the carboot tomorrow at 6am. Bonus if I can match my weekly wage tomorrow.

I sell on ebay a lot but manage it so it does not impact my post job. If overtime is needed I work it for example.
