New rules regarding banking hours?

From this week our managers were coming around telling people that because they finished 'X' minutes early on 'Y' day, they need to make up that time either by coming in early or working over. As far as I know, and our rep says, this "banking hours" is not allowed. I've always thought that if they can't give you the workload that takes you up to your time, they can't claim that time back on a later day. Management is saying this is a new national agreement that CWU has agreed too, funny that I can't see any other instances of this or any announcements. They're also using this as reason to push you to take lapsing, even if you can't get it done in your time they say "well you finished at 'X' time on 'Y' day". Has any other offices been doing this this week?

It’s total rubbish. Banking of hours is not allowed. If your manager continues then work over your time during the week and once you have “banked” your hours tell him you’re taking Saturday off as you have already worked your contracted hours for this week. See what he has to say about that

Banking hours is not in any agreement, he is telling porkies and obviously didn't know about this site that helps us to be better informed.

That'd be ace, I'd nearly get every Saturday off
