lieu day procedure

Post by Goatpostie »

Just wondering. i requested a lieu day around 2 months ago. It is for next saturday and when i asked today i was told i may not get it because other offices in our area are struggling so the area DOM will not allow any lieu days. At the time my manager said he will sort something out nbut now im told ill probably not get it. are there any procedures managers must follow when dealing with lieu days. I.E. must let you know within a week or application etc ?

I had a similar experience in that my day off before Xmas (I was a reserve at the time and not on rolling days off) was the Saturday. On the Monday I was told it was changed. I said, not happening. On the Wednesday I got a call from the wages clerk asking me to bring in proof I couldn’t work. Told him I’d bring in a letter from my mum.
Spoke to the union rep and said they can’t chaneg days at short notice as you have plans, so that’s an end to it.
I heard no more of it.
It’s just another case of bullying to get what they want. If you roll over and say ok, they’ll keep doing it.

Chalky 13 is exactly correct. You need to stand up to these SO CALLED managers. I mean over 8 seems notice and you still probably won't get it. Hahaha, no chance. And they wonder why a big percentage of staff are pissed off. Clueless c...s. :so there
