f**k them mate, that's THEIR problem. Come in, do the job as RM tell you the way they want it done ( they really do want the runners and work for nought posties ) and if you haven't got enough time you DON'T do any lapsing and cut off your own duty if it's too much. Let it go to s s**t as their bonus will suffer and that's all they care about so they might get hours put back into the office and stop the loaning. It's from the LINO to the DOM to the AREA MANAGER all the way up the chain that get the bonus. It's f****d up but the humble plague should just poor along at a reasonable pace and also the customer should get a better service in the end of offices become better staffed. I think the union need to start getting off their arses .

The union are always telling us take your breaks, don't come in early, use correct equipment, which the company cannot argue with, but it's the work force themselves who need to have a hard look.
Union advice is ignored by a large minority, human nature. The union is not the problem.

The Union have always tried to get that simple message over, " do the job properly" to protect its members and ultimately the current job levels. The posties are their own worst enemies, many have no back bone to do something as simple as starting on time like every other worker in the country. No ability to tell a DOM," no " I am only working to my contracted time. No ability to tell the DOM, I will be using the trolley on delivery that "RM" insisted on !
The state of play in delivery which inspires the bullying culture lies firmly at the feet of a gutless staff unprepared to make a stance where they would get all the backing needed from the Union. Nobody can be sacked for doing the job properly !!!
It's RMs own rule book, why not just do the job and get over the evil early finish mentality that is still ingrained in most posties. We reap what we sow, copying or trying to Compete like schoolchildren with the office speed machine has been the downfall of delivery and don't the managers just love it. They thrive on idiots, use their actions as a tool to abuse other staff while all the time knowing nobody gives a s**t about the poor new starts and most part timers.
It's not the Union, or even the managers who are responsible for these Monday blues, just have a look around the office floor and observe the antics of the majority of colleagues, THERE you will see the root of delivery problems in full.!!!!

How can we see this, yet the people paid alot more can't. This practice is ruining the company and will put us out of a job.robbertwhitton wrote:Well here we go again,it starts with our 10 minute a day boss wishing us a good weekend on Saturday morning, obviously aware that by the time we get done it’s 3o clock,so that’s just sundayvthen?.. and then in we come Monday, sending 3 away on loan, lapsing 1 duty and then 1 goes sick,we really are at breaking point, loaning people out to offices that are loaning people out, what utter shambles!,

This is funny. Our office has staff putting in mech or D2Ds 20mins before start time.
I start at my start time, start sorting the buddy boxes, then pottering. (It’s part of my prep work)
This morning blokes were complaining at 7:30 that they didn’t have their buddy boxes out. We start at 7:27 on Tuesday.
So I told them to do one, start at the start time and they won’t be stood around waiting for work to do

WHO in your office has staff putting in mech or D2Ds 20 mins before start time ?
Are they “asked” and paid for that 20mins as OT ?
As I have already said, these “ blokes” you refer to are the real reason for the state of DOs !
Self inflicted chaos, caused by idiots - not the Union or even RM for that matter.

Exactly, it’s their own choice! Yesterday was so light, most people took their whole walk out in 3-4 trays!
No-one asks them to and they don’t get paid for it. As IPS has stopped for most days at our place now, the couple who came in for an hour OT, did half hour of that then prepped their own walk don’t get paid anymore which is something.
