At our office we have both collection and delivery drivers.
Now i have been told today that if there was a drivers repick,then delivery duty drivers would be able to pick a collection duty, can anyone tell me if this is true??

I will move this to union room - but at our place we first vote on whether or not we have a repick, if the majority vote for it then it goes ahead.

Also if there is a repick, anyone who is qualified for that duty can pick into it but whether this is national or not I am not sure hopefully a full rep can advise.

If there is an office resign every postman in that office should get to
pick any duty he or she wants when their turn comes on seniority.
Or does driver @ 35 think its an us and them place of work if its going
to effect his pick of duties

Doesn't there have to be a certain percentage in changes in duty first , all I've seen was the deckchairs being moved on the Titantic; as it appeared to be change for changes sake, as the percentage of change if any was low .

Not in our office,our driving duties are ring fenced,so are ex phg jobs,they can only be picked up if any of the current duty holders come off through there own choice,something to do with there allowance and not being worse of financially i think .

So when we have a full office repick they as good as all keep there jobs

The way forward does say something about once a certain amount of change is made then a full office repick is the norm.Cant remember the figure though

As far asi know if 50% of your office changes the members can ask for a resign and all duties are up for grabs eccept specialist posts(PHGS etc) not unless your trained and pay protection duties can opt out under MTSF.

in our office only delivery can sign for delivery, and the same goes with the rest of the mail centre sorters signing for sorting jobs etc, if you want to do collections/distribution you need to transfer even though we are in the same complex

Way Forward is perfectley clear on resigns

1/3rd of jobs need to incurr major change any job NOT incurring major change DOES NOT go into the repick if the duty holder wishes to keep it.

You should never ever be having individual office ballots regarding having re-signs or not.

If the criteria that is set out in the way forward for re-signs is met then a re-sign its is!!!!

Branches should stick to what is set out in National Agreements, if we start to go against National Agreements then we don't have an argument when RM do it to us.
