Picking a Duty after Transferring office

Hi Advice needed! I transferred office 5-6 months ago due to family reasons and had to drop from full time to 25hrs I’m a spare on delivery but was told there are some full time duties available to pick this month and I’m the most senior spare. I spoke to the delivery rep about this and he said I can’t pick a duty or be made up to full time for a year after a transfer? I thought it was the way forward agreement that stated you can’t pick another duty for a year once you pick a duty? I only ask ask my previous office had people transfer in and picked duty’s within a year.

can't say what's the official guidelines but at ours we've had a few pick duties within a month or 2 after a transfer, we did have a full resign though, also a grey area re dropping hours, our guys didn't drop to PT and were definitely no FT jobs on offer either, guess it's pot luck on which office you join, agreements don't really stick at ours

Ask the delivery rep to show you the agreement he is basing his advice on.
Ask the area rep as well.
Sometimes people misunderstand agreements.
Sometimes they make them up.

Some reps feel an allegiance to "their" members.
