No PDA or sharing one between 2

Today we had no PDA .. so had to take a manual form to fill in and it took ages!!! Any customer could say they didnt get stuff and we'd have no leg to stand on. They were all scanned in by someone at the office .. so if the customer asks for the location proof of where they were delivered it will say the DO. Should those who did not have one at all be worried?

then the manager has to deal with it, hows it going to be the postmans fault when they didnt have a PDA in the 1st place ?

That’s ripe for issues with items delivered or not or alleged undelivered items. I’d never share a pda after a manager told me that if I did I could face the sack if any fraud took place even if it wasn’t me

I agree there should at a minimum be a PDA for every postie in a DO along with a few spare PDAs and a supply of replacement batteries on charge.
There is currently a fault with the PDAs which will let you zap items fully that do not require a signature but if a signature is required then the process cannot be completed. So at the moment we all have a supply of epod cards in case the fault occurs. The fault has been attributed to rain and water getting into the PDA or the battery compartment. It might be case that this happening on dry days as well in which case the rain is not the cause.

Same issue we were told to take pictures on are phones and scan them with the pda when back to the van

Not everyone owns a mobile phone though. RM needs to provide equipment that works.
