Morning, I need to book a week off the first week of Christmas pressure for personal reasons. I have full cover but has been rejected. Where do I stand on this??

You will be well aware that within the Christmas pressure period no leave is normally granted but without you going into personal details there is always exceptional circumstances and you need to explore this with union assistance.1mrp057man1 wrote:Morning, I need to book a week off the first week of Christmas pressure for personal reasons. You mention that you have full cover but that would mean that your substitute who covers your absence would be unavailable for other duties in the high volume of work expected for that week.
Whatever management level has rejected your time off you need to take your leave request to the next level of authority assisted by the union if it is absolutely necessary that you have this time off.
Get your union rep to locate the employee welfare officer in your area and advise your predicament.
Not the greatest time of year but if approved you may have to take the weeks leave as unpaid or use up your annual leave entitlement.
