just read a bit of the voice magazine about new delivery methods, worth a read/laugh

no 1st wave sequenced is prepped into frame, just split into bundles/loops and prep rest as usual to have 2 bundles for same addresses, guessing it saves around 6/7 mins per tub of sequenced mail and means trusting the machine to be 100% right, i reckon 99 out of 100 tubs i prep has at least 1 missort in,
then add 1 lot of households, (surprise surprise 1 didn't have any on a visit to see how its done) meaning you carry 3 bundles in your hands for the same addresses ,
now how does that system work on 3/4/5 different lots of households? officially they cannot be nested, unless come already prepared as in 1 trial d/o, which is a good idea to save time/money
even having 1 bundle "back to back" will be impossible with loops also getting households that day, and will slow us down drastically on the streets, but hey, you're out of the office 15 mins earlier so now time available for lapsing :left:

honestly don't know who dreams up these ideas, if current method isn't broken, don't try to fix it

You don't need to hold 3 bundles.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

And holding a PDA to scan a parcel. How long would it take to deliver to one house if you had 4 d2ds, 2 recorded packets and they weren’t in so you had to write a p739, also taking elastic bands off and putting them back on after every house so your bundle doesn’t go everywhere

You have one small bundle with the D2D at the back of it.
It isn't a separate bundle.
The 3rd "bundle" you envisage doesn't exist either.
The mail from the IPS doesn't need to be carried in the hand. A small bundle per loop can simply be put in a pouch/trolley and all you need to do is remember the next one.
There aren't 3 bundles. Ever.

It all seems a bit far fetched. Isn't the way of prepping now our best option. The only way it could get quicker is if there was just one wave of mech.

Which will never happen as it would result in some DOs not getting their sequenced mail until the afternoon

You just said you you put a bundle of D2D at the back of a bundle of sequence and have to remember the bundle of manual in your pouch/ trolley. There are 3 bundles in your explanation.

OK Dan - you aren't carrying 3 bundles of mail at the same time.
