Temporary relocation

Post by therailway »

Hi, looking for some clarification (Rep is on A/L).
Proposal to move entire unit from current base to another site for approx. 10 weeks. Staff who live closer to the new site obviously benefit from reduced travelling time and mileage. Staff that live further away from the new site are being offered the additional mileage at 45p per mile, so far so good! But what about the additional time it takes to get to the new site? Should that be claimed/paid as overtime?
EG. Driver A drives an additional 10 miles per day each way, so he gets £9.00 per day mileage allowance. It takes him 15 mins per day each way, so should he be paid 30 mins per day overtime? Any links to downloads etc would be appreciated. Thanks.
