We have just had major changes to our delivery unit and all the rounds have been redone by geo route.the duty i now do is delivery only from 9:30- and on the busier days of the week can last untill 4:30 and this is in the summertime without M/R.Also there are loads of steps to many of the delivery point and its starting to do my knees in.is it right to have dutys this long and should there be some sort of health and safety check for things like amount of steps etc for new duties?

The future mate, think of it , your knees going and 50%of the other opgs struggling, cheaper to force you to leave or finish you on the sick than to make redundancies

Start and finish time. So job properly and it won’t affect you. Less outdoor time due to cutting off

See your rep, your duty is f****d and needs looking at. In the meantime follow the overrunning duty procedure.

The current computer system used to determine & plan walk routes is broken & inaccurate. We should be waiting until we have full and accurate PDA & AHDC data before reworking any more walks.

This is the reason I turn down a full time contract repeatedly.
On 30 hrs, my maximum delivery will be 6 hrs (if they get someone to load van, do van checks etc for me).
I'm out 5 1/2 hrs most days as it is, and at 55 and with health issues, longer deliveries will be a mare.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
