change to starting times

Our office start times are being changed from October so that we start later Mon, Weds ,Thurs, Fri and Sat by 28 minutes. On the tuesday its 58 minutes later. I thought the maximum change was capped at 30 minutes in the latest deal between the CWU and royal mail. This includes the 1 hour reduction in the working week.

Can anyone clarify.

Best guess is that it's the knock-on affect of the SWW and of Network 18 at your local MC, possibly the dispatch times from the MC to your DO are being put back

Probably you will only get one wave on Tuesday.
It will just arrive at the time of the second wave.

I don't know mate as I'm out of colditz and it seems that nobody else in the job knows or cards but I think your correct about the half hour time change, I think.

Think op is asking what is the agreement on change of times is it 30 minutes or just another agreement being ignored by rm.

Also in the BT2010 agreement there was something about no office is to start later than 0700.

Is there? We start at 7 now and the initial proposal for us is to start 17 minutes later each day....12 minutes each day to make up the hour reduction, plus another 5 minutes each for the proposed change in our finishing time.

The maximum that an office has to. Move later under the SWW and the impact from LAT is 30 minutes.

The SWW element is simple ie reducing the hour off one of the three options which each office was put in.

The impact from the LAT which only effected about 103 offices in the UK meant that Divisional Reps and Directors Of both processing and Delivery reviewed when the LAT product was due into the Mail Centre and worked on the basis that the Mail Centre needed 90 minutes to process this work and than to add the stem time to the Delivery Office. The maximin you could move including the SWW was 30 minutes per day.

In London we had 11 Offices impacted by the LAT and in addition to the SWW we have reduced the impact from LAT to just 5 minutes.

Given the times you have put up I would hazard a guess that Royal Mail have proposed other reasons than the National Agreement to move your start times which you can disagree on.

Is RM and/or the CWU taking into account the extra time needed for the mech mail that arrives at the inward MC to late to be sequenced on wave 2 (the batch has been run already, with anything after that going manual)? A lot more wave 2 mail is going as manual now where all the work comes in later as a result of Network 18

I have reviewed Croydon , Greenford , Mount , Jubillee and Romford only two of these Mail centres had later arrivals as a result of network 18 and these were marginal. Some work is also arrival late due to the overnight lane closures due to the M1 widening and M6 night work.

Delivery offices should be much more concerned by the forthcoming PAD revisions which Royal Mail are trying maximise more of the LAT traffic going out on the core delivery which means later runs into Delivery Offices frombthe inward Mail Centre or MPU.

I think yous are becoming couriers who just happen to deliver letters because the job is now well and truly f....d. They, just want to load yous up with as much crap as possible and they don't want older bodies with service they want teenagers on bullshit terms who run..... Sorry off post.

PAD stands for Professionalising Area Distribution. This means all Area Distribution Drivers will have to under a revision before October.
