Hello folks. I posted in the introduction forum http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/forum/vi ... php?t=8633 to ask about if any of you guys still have any of the blue bags from the old days kicking about?
I'd really love to get one. Please do get in touch!

I don't have any of the old blue bags, but I do have an old brown bag from the 70's - Her name is Andrea, and she is 2nd generation West Indian....we've been married for 5 years ( c'mon, someone had to say it eventually )
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?
Mail delivery; those that can, do, those that can't, MANAGE!

There's nothing wrong with old bags - they're very grateful for small mercies - and I do mean small.

I use that joke every time I go into the local grocers and they ask me if I want a bag: I say, "No thanks - I've got one already". She happens to be light brown too! Ho ho - hope she never reads this!
In under a year, I have gone through one of those cheap and nasty red bags you see - you know, the ones made in Sri Lanka. The second is already showing signs of going at the seams. The postman who took me under his wing when I first started has a blue bag as you describe which he had then and it's still in good nick. Aww. Bless him and his little, blue bag! May he have many happy hours with it on his shoulder!

I remember well how they used to dig into your shoulder, you really felt the weight, anything bulky would spill out if you are not careful, they weren't that good to be honest, the newer red ones had padding and seemed to balance the weight better, it opened inward so preventing any spills, could do with waterproofing tho.

My M&S underpants are also made in Sri Lanka, and they also don't last a year.
