I got given a doctors note today saying im fit for indoor work and driving but he doesn't want me to do much walking until I have a scan on my ankle. I have spoken to lino and she said they cant have me at work until after scan when I should know what is wrong with ankle and have a full fit date.
I'm happy to so some indoor work and don't partically want to be off sick but I'm being forced to stay off and will then trigger a stage 1 but surely they shouldn't issue a stage 1?

Your GP Fit Note should record the fact you are capable of being at work and completing other functions apart from walking.rockypostie wrote:I got given a doctors note today saying im fit for indoor work and driving but he doesn't want me to do much walking until I have a scan on my ankle. Their are other functions you can complete in the office other than walking.
Make sure you keep a copy of the fit note for presenting at your stage1 meeting should it go to that length.
You can also write to your lino of your willingness to continue working and request a written reply from her as to the instructions she has given to you.

A stage 1 really isn’t anything to worry about. I’ve known people to be issued with one after having a Heart attack at work.
