This might sound stupid but every week now rota goes up on the Saturday and the agency staff have a full week of duties, usually the same one all week. permanent staff like me are now getting TBC for chunks of the week so u never know what ur doing etc. Spoke to manager there on saturday and asked why aren't agency staff the ones getting moved around and basically shafted instead of the permanent staff. response was u r permanent so we can use and abuse u as we need. Fuming to be honest.
Any thoughts ?

Totally the opposite of how offices I’ve worked in operate.

I assumed that would have been the case in every office but seemingly not here. Was the use and abuse comment made me peeved off. will speak to union for all the good that will do.

I know this isn't right but by putting you on different duties as opposed to an agency you would cope better and giving the agency same duty every week manager is hoping that mistakes will be minimised.hero22 wrote:This might sound stupid but every week now rota goes up on the Saturday and the agency staff have a full week of duties, usually the same one all week. permanent staff like me are now getting TBC for chunks of the week so u never know what ur doing etc. Spoke to manager there on saturday and asked why aren't agency staff the ones getting moved around and basically shafted instead of the permanent staff. response was u r permanent so we can use and abuse u as we need. Agency are in a unique position they can virtually stop working if it is unsuitable to them whereas you don't have the same luxury.
Agency leaving would result in absortion of walks or increased O/T. The absortion colleagues wouldn't want and increased O/T manager doesn't want.
I have never heard of an agency being disciplined in the code of conduct other than you are no longer required which leaves us back to the absortion or O/T scenario.

Should have added to my post but manger can increase the contracted hours of P/T before agency recruitment.rehabron wrote:I know this isn't right but by putting you on different duties as opposed to an agency you would cope better and giving the agency same duty every week manager is hoping that mistakes will be minimised.hero22 wrote:This might sound stupid but every week now rota goes up on the Saturday and the agency staff have a full week of duties, usually the same one all week. permanent staff like me are now getting TBC for chunks of the week so u never know what ur doing etc. Spoke to manager there on saturday and asked why aren't agency staff the ones getting moved around and basically shafted instead of the permanent staff. response was u r permanent so we can use and abuse u as we need.
