It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I would agree with the above advice if "got bit by a dog today" meant blood flowing :thumbup otherwise I wouldn't be unduly concerned. :cuppa

Report it to the dog warden / police as well. Next time it may be a toddler the dog goes for?

Right where to start go to hospital get it cleaned and they will ask you about jab's, Next phone office and tell them to get work covered for today and beyond if needed, Then report the attack to the police and get a crime number if you can, When you can if within three days get it in the accident book or as it is now ERICA which is done on the computer at work by a manager! (THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE) Next either get your union or if you don't have one a solicitor (May cost you a bit but is better than nothing) but the union has it's own legal department!
