Time to unite!!!!

Altough this deal is a crock of sh*t, and as far as im concerned the two tw**s running this union have sold us out and let us down badly!!! Having said that we are where we are(s**t i sound like a manager) and their is no point in discussing whats gone,its only the beginning of the battle so we must unite together and be strong. I voted no but thaats democracy for you, the only thing that i just cannot get my head round is how 46 000 people couldnt be arsed voting, i know it would be easy to think f**k it i will just look after number 1 but now more than ever we need to reorganise and unite together to try and make the best of a bad deal, so wether you voted no or yes is now irrelevant, at grass roots we need to take back control of the union cos WE are the union!!!!!

Excellent post Weetrogg. I whole heartedly agree but one question why did you mention the bosses Union.

Completely unintensional, its just that reading some of the threads, there seems to be a real danger of a complete breakup of the unity that was shown during the dispute, i felt pride at the way we stood up for each other and although things are not looking good at the moment the last thing we need is for us the members to rip OUR union apart :lfo :cfo thats what these two want!!!

WEETROG, when you say unite and take back control of the union, don,t you assume from the result that 64% are happy with it ! and we "no,s" are in the minority and won,t be taking back anything unless the 64% change their minds ?

True, but when things dont turn out the way those voted yes expected, we will need a strong and united union to fight back, im sure some of the people who voted yes at my mc are shipped out to do walks they will show a bit more balls and will need a reorganised and more representative union to begin the fight back. forgive them lord,for they know not what they have done!!!!

Just think how 45750 no vote's would have gone down with top brass in the union or gordon brown maybe they lost some of them but we will never NO!.

we have to get behind our union rep's in the battles ahead, whats done as regards the vote is done.
in a lot of the offices the rep's will be under severe pressure so they will need all the members pulling together and supporting them

I am a no voter, but have to agree with weetrogg. The difficult struggles are ahead of us. But don't think for one minute that those who voted yes, actually themselves believe this is a good deal. I believe there are many varied reasons why some of those voters voted the way they did, and I'm sure I don't have to spell them out to you here. But if you cast your minds back to The Way Forward Agreement, Many of the people who voted yes then, didn't read any further than the first few pages of the agreement which outlined where "The Rob Peter Pay Paul money" was going, and thats how many voted. (With a few pounds thrown in to appease the PHGs). It was only after the agreement began to be implemented by Royal Mail, did the full realisation come home and hit those up the face with things they didn,t even know existed in the agreement.

So I would say, don't drop the heads just yet. weetrogg is spot on. We must rally the troops and protect ourselves and all our members for what is to come. (But not the strike breakers)

The fight is only just beginning.
