pda's, postcards.....................

today a chemist who wished to remain anonymous said "if workers strike i'll use local couriers instead"

ROFL

1.5 billion invested in RM, only to make the people who make RM's yields and profits soar jobs even more difficult with more and more things being put on us and expected to get on with with no extra pay, with what looks to be no pay rise and being ridiculed by rm with propaganda and bullshit statements like

best jobs best pay lets keep it that way

hermes dhl dpd yea i'll leave the 100 miles a week im doing walking up and down hills, drives, up and down stairs delivering letters that apparently are not even profitable being a glofified leaflet distributor with a uniform posting filmsy pieces of pizza crap through letter boxes that are sop stiff and no matter how many times i fold the door2door theres not enough resistance to push through so im hamming my hand in someones home to try to get the thing to go all the way and fall ....i'll leave all that behind to deliver 40-50 parcels instead bring it on i say.

rm's own agenda and there investments have only been made to increase the workload's for us the workers and make more profits, when are we going to see a even share of that , wheres the investments to make our lives easier????

the pda's yea nice but not any easier, as soon as the pda's rolled in, it started off with 10-20 2d items now im doing 40+ wheres the time taken into account when my shift time is still the same, in this period we are now doing post box collections and still absurbing 3-4 walks a day the job has become a pain in the ass, managers scrimping and saving not paying ot, not taking into account paid breaks when your going over doing your normal duty a 10 hour shift has more break entitlement yet they dont wanna pay out....

offices being closed and sold off only to combine 2-3 offices in a single location...............

we need help

part timers are illegally being told to come in 20 mins after there start time if they want a break........

fraud in everysense of man hours in each DO......

the list goes on.

I wonder if all these messages on the PDA are what caused hardly any of ours to download/transmit the scans today! Most had to be left logged in in the charger when we went home, in the hope everything gets sent by Monday.

'specially when the firm could have bought a veritable handheld supercomputer for 1/10 of the price of the calculator

The idea seems to be that they paid a good wad for the software - Jesus, any 14 year old could have written an android app to do the stuff our PDA's do for peanuts.

A grand apiece ? Seriously ? You can get a satellite phone with iris recognition that drives your car for you and gives you a cuddle on cold nights when your wifes on night shift for less than that !!

I now log off and shut down the PDA on my last scan regardless if there are still 40 jobs or so still to be uploaded. I honestly do not give a s**t any more.

Yes,
I scan whatever needs scanning, get signatures whenever they're needed but I've long since lost interest when that information actually transfers from the PDA to Royal Mail's website, besides which my three minutes of training in the use of a PDA did not include how to log off and shut down.

I think the top brass in RM are completely out of touch with the people out on the street. Its like "you should be very grateful" that we gave you a PDA. Thats a bit like saying to a shop worker "we gave you a till".

How is that supposed to motivate me not to strike when ive been due a pay rise for 5 months.
