It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Why you can't have part day strikes
The same indstructions apply for when an whole office ( not a few individuals ) decide to start working normally i.e. A change to what they previously were doing and thereby causing a backlog.

What should happen if there is a wildcat walk-out part way through shift? Do you lose the whole shift in these circumstances as well?

Yes they can stop a full day's pay.
We've even had a walk out to the gate, calmed things down and went back to work and they've tried to stop a full day's pay, we were at the gate for 30 minutes. They didn't get it but they tried.
