Revenue Protection - Collections

Post by Norsegold »

Hi
Very worried that my whole collection was sent to revenue protection - is this normal? does this happen often?
I've done nothing wrong but comments from others make me feel I'm in trouble.
Any info please

Are you a postie or a customer?

Revenue normally only check businesses or post offices they are interested in. Maybe something has been flagged on your collection they are interested in. If they suspected you they'd be a lot more subtle I suspect.

Thanks - I'm a postie and have never seen or heard of this happening on a collection before, as you say only on Post Offices or Customers.
That's whats worrying me so much - even though I have nothing to worry about in carrying out the collection

To be honest, if you had anything to worry about, then they wouldn't be giving you such obvious clues as taking all your stuff to RP, they'd be a lot more subtle. It sounds like they are after a particular collection but didn't want to alert you to which in case you gave the game away.

This happens in our office all the time, most weeks there is a list of firms they want to check, they are not after you.
In fact quite often the revenue protection chap comes in and cuts and tips the mail at our office and then contacts the business to tell them where they are going wrong and shares the information with the collection staff.
