Pay offer latest

The below pay offer,(and it’s conditions) have been formally rejected by us. Please start communicating with the members. This is going nowhere but the obvious:

"Royal Mail have formally written an 8 page letter to the CWU formalising their strategy and included the following 3 year Pay Deal.

It was dependent on their ability to reach agreement on all the issues such as pensions , reductions in MTSF , Legacy payments , RRIS , TPM , Sick pay , the IR framework and new rates for new entrants , monthly pay and acceptance of trials on multi buddle delivery option , heavy and light days , later acceptance times and later starts and trails on Team working.

In the first year they would offer a lump sum of £250 with the opportunity to reduce the Working Week by 30 mins where work can be successfully absorbed without additional cost. Part timers , professional drivers who already enjoy shorter hours would see no reduction in the working week.

In the second year providing the triad are completed in 2017/18 and a national WIPGH ( Weighted Items Per Gross Hours ) figure of 3% is achieved for the period of 2017/18 the Royal Mail will offer half of that i.e. 1.5%

For the third the pay offer will be half of the improvement made nationally on Weighted Items per gross hour.

The CWU have rejected the offer and it is clear now that the CWU now needs to mobilise the membership. The stakes could not be higher. The membership either supports the CWU in fighting for a future or accept that Royal Mail now see that managing decline is the way to go and reduce our terms and conditions by a huge scale. Their delivery strategy will be a disaster and we need to stop. Remember their delivery strategy will impact on Mail centre's , RDCs and professional drivers”
