replacement staff

Someone in our office has just left to go to pastures new, he informed our manager by letter in January that he was leaving in May, he did a 3 day week, we still do not have a replacement so means more lapsing taking us into overtime every day, our manager says he has applied to his manager for a replacement but to no avail, could this be right or is it just bad management on his part?

The staff have a choice are they willing to do the overtime as a result of this lapsed duty or would as you seem to indicate a replacement be found. If you all wish for this duty to be filled then respectfully decline the overtime which is on a voluntary basis and with the additional workload that will be spread to other duties use the recognised cutting off procedure by returning with undelivered items then this will prompt your manager into action.

you dont do lapsing, if its going to take you over your time, its simple, lapsing is only there to take you, UP TO YOUR FINISH TIME, NOT FOR YOU TO FINISH, BEYOND YOUR TIME!!!!

Simple follow the advice above, cut his round off and they will be replaced ln no time with a 25 hour contract
