Dog Bite

Hi Guys & Gals, looking for a little advice if I can. I was bitten by a dog on delivery today, never had a problem with it in the past but today for some reason it took a bite at my thigh, I immediately returned the delivery office, reported the incident, but refused to do an immediate site visit as I was more concerned about visiting A&E to get the wound cleaned up & stitched/glued if required.

I have been cleaned & patched up by the hospital, given anti biotics & told to keep the leg elevated & dry for 2/3 days. My dilemma, apart from it stinging & feeling a little sore I feel ok, so should I return to work tomorrow or rest it up for 2/3 days.

Best to rest up and make sure it doesn't get infected , it'll also give your management / delivery coach & CWU REP time to contact the dog owners and come up with a plan in light of this dog attack

no offense but a medical professional has given you clear advice, and youre asking a bunch of posties about what to do ?

GO in early tomorrow and do a bit of the stuff you cut off today. Maybe while limping round you may notice the doc gave you clear advice for a reason ;)

You need to report it to the police who will give you a crime number which you can then give to your office.

Thanks for the advice everyone, the leg has become quite sore in the last hour or so, looks like a day or 2 in front of the tv with just Sky Movies for company is coming.

The hospital has advised "elevation" for 2 or 3 days... I suggest you follow their advice. Hope you get well Soon.

No worries the DOM has suggested you could do your delivery walking on your hands to keep the leg elevated

Yep it's a stay off from me,not to be awkward or anything but as the doctor,is the expert not a jumped up manager who should know better and follow procedures regardless of the impact,just like the said on dog awareness week????

How can the skin heal if it is constantly moving rubbing and with rain any infection may occur these bastards running this place will blame you for not taking medical advice!
