If you are not aware Royal Mail have not renewed the corporate membership for Royal Mail employees allowing free admission to English Heritage properties on showing of ID card
I found this out recently when taking family to a property and having to pay nearly £100 to gain admission so not to disappoint grandchildren
As far as I am aware no notification has been sent to employees so they are aware of this which would have been nice and courteous to save embarrassment at pay desks to the properties a simple message on my payslip would have sufficed !,,,

For once it was not RM! English Heritage have stopped all corporate membership schemes,but,yes a note on the wage slip would have been a good idea.....there is a thread about it in "Blue Shirts" I think.

There's nothing on the English Heritage website saying that they have stopped the corporate memberships. There are still companies that have corporate memberships, not sure if thats because they're membership isn't due for renewal but will be interesting to find out if they reply to my email.
The lack of communication is amazing given that we are a communication industry.

I was informed at the English Heritage property that Royal Mail had not taken the option to renew there corporate membership not that English Heritage had stopped corporate membership. Just was annoying that having travelled approx 50 miles to get there that nobody from RM had informed its employees that this no longer was available

You can join up in your own right and get 3 months free if paying by direct debit.

For your £100 you could have taken out membership and still have pennies to spare and half price with Scottish Heritage and Cadw (Wales) then free in the third year to all.

Family membership 2 adults and up to 12 children is £96 what's not to like about that. After visiting enough places you can make your money back.

I've been a member of both English Heritage and National Trust for years.

Scandalous - typical royal mail penny pinching again - just been turned away from Whitby Abbey how embarrassing lack of communication is pathetic ah well it was good while it lasted - just went the same way as our colleague shares - pensions and sick pay !!!!

But we still get fifty First Class stamps at Christmas or we did last year.
