If someone is suspended ....
for whatever reason (pending an outcome/investigation)by management can that same person go on 'sick' at the time of his/hers suspension who might or might not be still working but not doing their normal job?

If someone is suspended ....
The phrasing of the question isn't exactly elegant but ....
If postie A had been suspended from delivery and was sent to work in the callers office pending the investigation, then if they were sick, why wouldn't they go sick?
How or why would they attend work if they were not fit to do so?
If postie A has been suspended and isn't allowed in the building pending an investigation and they are sick, it would be as well to inform management in case a meeting is called.
It would be better to have informed them beforehand rather than wait until the meeting has been arranged and then go - I can't come. I am sick.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

For a start " for whatever reason" and going by your topic heading there will be a specific reason for the suspension which will normally be a precautionary suspension on full pay whilst there is an ongoing investigation to avoid the possibility of threatening behaviour towards witnesses if there are any to be interviewed and safeguard other work colleagues if the suspension is for violent behaviour. " who might or might not be still working " if they are still working then they have not been suspended. " not doing their normal job" this leads me to believe that two colleagues have probably made it known that they are unwilling to work with one another and one has been temporarily moved to another job until the matter is investigated. " go on sick" is this a fabricated sickness fearing the outcome of the investigation or a genuine sickness ? Your posting is vague to say the least. Maybe we will be enlightened in due course.postypie wrote:for whatever reason (pending an outcome/investigation)by management can that same person go on 'sick' at the time of his/hers suspension who might or might not be still working but not doing their normal job?

and to add one final thought, just in case. If the person is throwing a sickie, even if genuine, a dismissal can still go ahead even though in practice they usually wait a reasonable amount of time before dropping the axe.
