My mate at work was a workplace coach but management have taken postion off him as he now works affteroons rather than mornings.

Is it right they can just take this off him?

Probably.

as he is now unable to train during the mornings ( which is why he got the job of WPC ) they have removed it.

he could I suppose take it with him to afternoons if a WPC is needed on the shift he does.

Not sure tbh, was he made aware he would lose it before he changed shifts? Was it his choice to change shifts?

If his move in shifts was voluntary then yes.
If it was an enforced move then no.
This ain't no baseball game, you get only one chance and you blew it.
