Yes, most likely to 24 hours. Royal Mail want a part time heavy work force. Privatisation destroyed the "coal face" workers chances/rights/aspirations. IN MY OPINION

The increase in part time contracts began long before privatisation.
Automation is largely to blame.

Over how many days is the 20 hour contract?

They are still making some up to 39 hours believe it or not. You'd need to get the union on the case. Failing that, you and a few others who are on low hour contracts could club together and refuse to work any OT to put pressure on management to increase the contracts.

My place just made up 16 of us.

Step 1. Put in a level 2 grivsnce.
Step 2. Involve ACAS.
Step 3. Work contract hours for 1 day a week until you're made up.

WORKED FOR US.

Get your unit rep to put in a disagreement , your D.O should be having 6 monthly reviews on contracts.

Also make sure ECR requests are completed , once the disagreement has been submitted & sorted.
