Sick and Rota week

Hi all, if your signed off work and this falls on your Rota week, what happens, Im pesumming I will just get paid as normal as iv banked the hours from Saturday's worked. Iv been with Royal Mail 7 years and this is my first absence due to illness.

You'll get paid anyway as you get sick pay

You raised this on another topic and this now becomes interesting as your medical certificate covers your free week in your rota. Going by your previous post that you have self-certificated for the week before your rota free week and assuming that you are intending going back to work on your scheduled week then you will have recorded an absence of 14 days which will trigger a 1st stage formal prompt. You will be paid for your absence immaterial of your banked hours as with your length of service you will receive your wages on your sick absence. The question is if your are flagged up for a stage 1 does the company owe you your banked hours or forgo the stage 1 formal prompt. Interesting!!
